Beekman 1802 debuted a clever campaign. Collaborating with Hasbro, the beauty brand announced a new ‘celebrity spokesperson,’ Mrs. Potato Head.

How does the nostalgic toy relate to a skincare product? Beekman 1802’s new Potato Peel Rapid Resurfacing Milk Facial is an  at-home gentle facial peel with a star ingredient, potato pulp.

The launch is just in time for Mrs. Potato Head’s 70th birthday. The brand humorously states, “…her persona resonates with Millennials and Gen Z … so we wanted to make her the spokesperson and help her become the next beauty influencer”—revealing that potato pulp is Mrs. Potato Head’s beauty secret.

Potato Peel Resurfacing Milk Facial is fragrance-free and contains three molecular sizes of acids—for gentle exfoliation with zero irritation. Key ingredients are:

  • Potato Pulp, which is rich in vitamins B6 and C that help to visibly boost skin brightness.

  • Goat Milk, to help rebalance and stabilize the microbiome during exfoliation.

  • 15% Glycolic Acid (AHA), which dives deep into the skin for rapid resurfacing

  • 5% Lactic Acid (AHA), to exfoliate the surface of the skin, removing dull skin and renewing it

  • 5% Lactobionic Acid (PHA), the milk-derived molecule slowly sinks into skin to remove dull skin, while sealing in hydration and protecting the skin barrier.
Mrs. Potato Head will be featured on an endcap at all 1,300 Ulta Beauty doors. There’s also a limited edition Play Set that include the Potato Peel Resurfacing Milk Facial and a Beekman Mrs. Potato Head toy. It comes in a bright yellow box decorated with an image of a potato, of course.
